Reactivity and aggression

Is your dog reactive to or aggressive with other dogs or people?  Is her behaviour causing stress and anxiety in your family?  Is walking your dog or having people to your home becoming a nightmare?  If yes, we can help.

Reactivity and aggression are usually the result of fear and/or frustration and it's important to be able to read your dog's body language to understand what needs he is trying to meet through his behaviour.

Noted author and behaviourist, Patricia McConnell, says, "Many emotions support or undermine our relationships with dogs, but fear stands alone as the single most common cause of serious behaviour problems in dogs."  Unfortunately, the role that fear can play in causing a dog to react aggressively is not always understood.  Well meaning people neglect to help their dog feel safe and the behaviour worsens.  We can help by teaching you how to set your dog up for success as he learns to make better choices and that by doing so, he can control his own safety.
