Is your dog jumping up on people? Surfing the counters? Not coming when called? Pulling on leash?
We can help.
The key to training good manners is to make it easy for your dog to do the right thing and harder to do the wrong thing! We train using "trial and success!" We set your dog up for success right from the start so that problem behaviours are not being rehearsed and reinforced.
We help you break things down to make it easy for your dog to learn new skills. And we help you ensure your dog's needs are being met through enrichment and exercise recommendations that provide good outlets for your dog's energy and opportunities to express natural behaviours.
We teach a core set of "life skills" that help dogs learn to live happily, peacefully, and confidently in our human world. These include coming when called, walking on a loose leash, settling on a mat, greeting other dogs politely and learning not to greet unless given permission to do so (mind your beeswax!), leave it, drop it, and wait and stay.
We also believe strongly in cooperative care and can teach you how to give your dog a voice in husbandry tasks such as brushing, and nail clipping.
We meet with you in your home or in a public place to practice the skills learned.
