Puppy Power Part 2

Here's the second of my two articles in the Powell River Peak on puppy power! You can read it here.

One of the outcomes of the pandemic may be puppies who grow up less afraid of people than they might have otherwise. Because we were staying home and not coming close to each other, puppies could go on walks without being accosted by people and feeling trapped. Seeing people from a distance is a great way to socialize puppies, giving the puppy the chance to look and learn but not necessarily interact.

I'm excited to announce I recently started a monthly column in the Powell River Peak. The column is meant to offer practical advice about training your dog.  You can read the first article here.

Recently, I wrote a letter to the editor of the Coast Reporter about an upsetting incident where I witnessed a woman putting a prong collar on a puppy.

Read this wonderful article about why it is not only more humane, but more effective, not to use fear, force and pain to train your dog.
